Hello world!

Hi everyone. My name is Pooja Viswanathan (pronounced Poo-Ja Vish-wuh-nA-thun – see below). I have roughly 13 years of experience conducting doctoral and post-doctoral research, and have been carrying out knowledge translation and commercialization activities for the past 7 years.

I graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo (Bio-informatics option). I then went on to complete a PhD in Computer Science (Robotics and Assistive Technology) at the University of British Columbia in the area of “smart” wheelchairs. In 2012, I joined as a post-doctoral fellow at the Intelligent Assistive Technology and Systems Lab at the University of Toronto.

In 2016, I founded Braze Mobility. Since then, I have worked with a number of universities, and provincial and federal organizations, such as AGE-WELL NCE, to help accelerate the commercialization of research. I frequently speak about commercialization challenges at panels and talks. Notable talks have been at CANARIE, Public Policy Forum, Ontario Economic Summit, and Ontario Research and Commercialization Alliance.

If you are requesting a talk, please provide the following details in the form below, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

You may use my photo and bio here once I confirm my availability.

And oh, here’s how you say my name:
